Thickness Guide

• 6 Mil shrink wrap is the thinnest recommended thickness, suited to seasonal protection of outdoor furniture and small, light-duty items; best for milder winters or sheltered items.
• 7 Mil shrink wrap  is the most common thickness for marine covers such as boats and jet skis, and also fits small-to-midsize scaffolding, crates, small equipment, and short-distance road travel; 7 mil handles harsh winters with moderate snow.
• 8 Mil  and 9 Mil cover large boats, large scaffolding, medium-to-large equipment, or items with sharp edges; these thicker films resist punctures and tolerate higher shrink heat.
• 10 Mil shrink wrap  is the first choice for heavy equipment on road transport and for industrial and construction work such as temporary walls, dust barriers, and long-term storage of valuable equipment (apply shrink wrap Vents at the destination).
• Pro Tip: with proper preparation, nearly any thickness can serve nearly any application; thicker film is recommended for long-distance travel and heavy-duty use.

Color Guide

• White provides the most protection from the sun and the least air-temperature fluctuation.
• Clear allows high light transmission for easy inspection of covered equipment, with greater temperature fluctuation.
• Blue absorbs sunlight to raise the interior temperature and is favored in northern climates to help melt snow and ice.
