MSW Shrink Wrap is a heavy-duty LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene) heat shrink film that forms a tight, weatherproof moisture barrier for boats, equipment, furniture, and palletized goods. MSW Shrink Wrap protects outdoor and stored items from dirt, moisture, and up to six months of UV exposure, and installs quickly with one or two people. Available in 6-12 mil thicknesses and in white, blue, and clear, MSW Shrink Wrap offers a durable, custom-fit alternative to expensive fitted covers.

Key Features

• Material: 100% virgin-resin LLDPE with UV inhibitors and additives that resist sun, rain, chemicals, and heat
• Thickness range: 6 to 12 mil (1 mil equals one-thousandth of an inch) for light-duty through heavy-duty jobs
• UV protection: up to 6 months of UVI protection that guards new paint and UV-sensitive materials
• Colors: white for maximum sun protection, blue for heat absorption to help melt snow and ice, and clear for visual inspection
• Shrink performance: excellent two-directional shrink and toughness for a tight, custom fit
• Applications: marine (boats and jet skis), scaffolding, construction dust barriers and temporary walls, equipment, and road transport
• Easy install: applies with one or two people as a lower-cost alternative to custom-made covers
• Specifications: meets ASTM (D882, D1593, D1709, D1922, D2732, D4397-91, G53) and Federal (LP-378, LP-390, LP-512) standards

Thickness Guide

• 6 Mil shrink wrap is the thinnest recommended thickness, suited to seasonal protection of outdoor furniture and small, light-duty items; best for milder winters or sheltered items.
• 7 Mil shrink wrap  is the most common thickness for marine covers such as boats and jet skis, and also fits small-to-midsize scaffolding, crates, small equipment, and short-distance road travel; 7 mil handles harsh winters with moderate snow.
• 8 Mil  and 9 Mil cover large boats, large scaffolding, medium-to-large equipment, or items with sharp edges; these thicker films resist punctures and tolerate higher shrink heat.
• 10 Mil shrink wrap  is the first choice for heavy equipment on road transport and for industrial and construction work such as temporary walls, dust barriers, and long-term storage of valuable equipment (apply shrink wrap Vents at the destination).
• Pro Tip: with proper preparation, nearly any thickness can serve nearly any application; thicker film is recommended for long-distance travel and heavy-duty use.

Color Guide

• White provides the most protection from the sun and the least air-temperature fluctuation.
• Clear allows high light transmission for easy inspection of covered equipment, with greater temperature fluctuation.
• Blue absorbs sunlight to raise the interior temperature and is favored in northern climates to help melt snow and ice.
• Pro Tip: less temperature differential means less condensation, mold, and mildew; Mr. Shrinkwrap recommends shrink wrap Vents or Desiccant Bags for storage and long-term applications.
