Self-Adhesive Collision Wrap, aka: Crash Wrap, Windshield Wrap or Wreck Wrap
Our Self-Adhesive Collision Wrap, also known as crash wrap, windshield wrap or wreck wrap is a 4 mil thick, self-adhesive film that is used to prevent additional deterioration in vehicles or other equipment that have experienced damage or have been in an accident and may be temporarily open to the elements during storage by quickly and easily covering damaged areas with a water tight and UV resistant plastic film barrier. Self-Adhesive Collision Wrap is coated on one side with a light-tack adhesive, and adheres to clean and dry surfaces such as metal, glass, or plastic, and to interior surfaces and fabrics. The see-through clear plastic provides a fair level of visibility for driving or moving a damaged vehicle or equipment. Self-Adhesive Collision Wrap cuts easily with a film knife, ring knife, or razor blade. Self-Adhesive Collision Wrap gives immediate protection anywhere a vehicle interior is exposed to a risk of damage from wind, rain, snow, and dirt, sand or dust either indoors or outdoors! For vehicles, it is recommended to only use Self-Adhesive Collision Wrap on exterior surfaces - however, many automotive service establishments also use Collision Wrap as cheap, disposable, floor mat material to protect freshly cleaned, carpeted areas in vehicles. The tough film, light-tack adhesive and easy application are what make Collision Wrap a versatile product with countless uses. Our Self-Adhesive Collision wrap comes in rolls with widths of 18”, 24”, 36”, and 48”. Our rolls come in different lengths ranging from 100’ to 300’.
When considering which crash wrap roll width is right for a given application, it is important to consider how large of an area needs coverage and how large of a void will need to be spanned. For example, if you need to cover a void where a window was broken, it is recommended to use a roll width greater than the void’s width. Using a crash wrap roll width greater than the void width will ensure that the light-tack adhesive will have plenty of surface to stick to on either side of the void after it is covered. Another option would be to use a narrower crash wrap roll width in a sideways fashion, applying it from bottom to top, creating a shingle effect to shed falling water, dirt or dust.
