Shrinkfast 998 Heat Gun O-Ring prevents leaking towards the rear of the heat gun
The Shrinkfast 998 Heat Gun O-Ring (Part# 2 on the diagram) is secured by its tension around the Filter Holder (part #1) above the threads. When the Filter Holder is tightened, the O-Ring creates a seal to the Inlet (part #8). All O-rings should be regularly checked to prevent a rubber dry rot which could enable fuel to leak into or outside the housing of the heat gun. This O-ring can be easily removed with a small pick tool or a very small screw driver.
